A landscape interpretation panel invites you to discover one of the distinctive features of the Ardèche landscape: its terraced hillsides, shaped by centuries of farming.
The ruins of Rochebloine Castle bear witness to the origins of the village of Nozières. Its first lords were the Dubesset de Valmorda family, followed by Lord Pagan de Retourtour. In 1725, the castle belonged to César de Romanet.
It is believed that one or more underground passages may once have connected the castle to the River Doux.
A famous local legend has also survived through the centuries: the Legend of the Bloody Hand. According to the story, the daughter of the lord, after being assaulted, pressed her bloodstained hand against one of the castle walls. It is said that the mark can still be seen today on a wall of the ruins, above a doorway.
