Panoramic Trail

You are on the adret, the south-facing slope, which was once very densely populated.

The hamlets, with their stone houses nestled closely together, bear witness to this, as do the terraces without which cultivation would have been impossible.

Chestnut trees occupy most of the cultivated slopes.

The valley floor is reserved for meadows, while crops, orchards and homes are located higher up.

Finally, the ridges stretching up to the edge of the Saint-Agrève plateau, at nearly 1,000 metres above sea level, are covered with forests and heathland.
