Kaopa Café artisanal coffee roasting
Established since 2012 in Lamastre, Kaopa Café roasts about 4 tons of coffee per year in an artisanal way, which represents one coffee bean in the wonderful world of coffee. The roaster is a device that is used to roast green coffee but it is also the name of the person who roasts the coffee.... such a machine, such a master. A small volume Probatino is used at Kaopa as well as a Giesen W6. All our coffees are 100% Arabica.

I roast two to three times a week to ensure optimum freshness. If you're lucky, you'll be able to taste the espresso of the day while watching the roaster at work. All you have to do is find the famous "rue Noire" in Lamastre!

The art of roasting
We often generalise by three types of roasting, "light, medium and dark". Light" or "medium" roasting gives the coffee a complex aroma and a nice liveliness, ideal for mild extractions. The liveliness in a coffee supports the length in the mouth and contributes to the development of the aromas. This is the type of roasting that Kaopa offers to bring out the best of the "terroir" of the selected vintages. And contrary to popular belief, espresso is not exclusively reserved for highly roasted coffees. Taste and make up your own mind.

The selection of green coffees is done by my suppliers. I buy from Belco café (Bordeaux), Saldac (Montélimar), Nativos (Lyon).
